About this data
Carcase results are measured at the abattoir and supplied by
Arubial Wagyu,
Lillyvale Feedlot and
Rangers Valley.
Pedigree, registration and breeding values are sourced from the
Australian Wagyu Association.
Carcases are the progeny Marathon has
abattoir results for. Not every progeny goes to a feedlot, since many are kept as breeders
or sold as bulls, and not every one that does returns carcase data. So this figure is lower
than a sire's total progeny count on the Australian Wagyu Association database, and the two
are not directly comparable.
Not every sire shown is owned by Marathon Wagyu. Many are external sires used through
artificial insemination or embryo transfer. The progeny and the carcase results are
Marathon's, and any average described as an
all-sire average covers the sires in this
data rather than a herd Marathon owns.
Averages are calculated across the progeny that have a recorded result for each trait.
The progeny count on each sire is colour coded as a guide to how much weight those
averages carry: green from ten progeny, amber from five, red below five.
